  1. Hello,

This is a long shot, but i am an amateur collector of all things antique stage lighting, and i was wondering if you knew of anyone that has an original copy of this catalog or an actual Parellipshere.

  2. Kevin,
Do a search for Parellipsphere at www.controlbooth.com. Several members still have them.

  3. I work at a HS in Phx and have in our Auditorium a few Electro Control lights, one is a JB 35529. We recently had an inspection from a reliable rigging company and in there report they noted that these Electro lights have Asbestos cords. I do see this mentioned in some of your pages above. What is the likely hood that this is a hazard in a school Auditorium where kids are the tech setting these lites.

  4. Asbestos is only a significant health hazard in free-air form. Most notably during the manufacture or wearing of the material (such as in old break pads). The fiber weave that makes up wiring would be very hard to release material into the air so that it could be breathed in. Plus, the handling time for this is very short where a factory worker handled it 40 hours a week for years. Consider this exposure very, very small. Plus, the wires will never burn up.

  5. Image 10 for the 3366 is missing (2nd page of brochure) and was replaced by image 8 for the 3365A.

Thank you for putting these online. I actually still have a few 170 and 220 Parellipspheres and it is nice to have a cut sheet on them.

  7. I worked for Electro Controls from 1972-1973. It was my first job out of high school. I worked in light assembly, then in production. It's fun to look at these brochures and reminisce.

  8. I still have 4 EC 3345F ellipsoidals in daily use in a cabaret house. They work great for specials. Everything in this house is a short throw.

  10. Almost all islands are rectangular in shape so the design of these fixtures must be able to accommodate such an area in an even manner. The fixtures are ordinarily wider other traditional lighting fixtures. Innovative decorators sometimes choose the colorful choices of lighting fixtures normally hung over pool tables to brighten up and individualize certain individual's kitchens. It all depends on your taste, your décor, and your needs. Is your kitchen modern or traditional? Futuristic or art deco? Pendant lamps, normally used over kitchen islands, have more opportunities for your perusal than you'll ever be able to imagine. There are also mini pendant lighting fixtures for and added touch of customization.
